Specialized care for individuals with Huntington’s Disease (HD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Huntington’s Disease (HD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) are neurodegenerative diseases that, at the present time, do not have a cure. They cause serious physical and cognitive impairments in those affected by the disorders. These can include a loss of movement or involuntary movements, difficulty with speech or swallowing, changes in behavior, dementia-like symptoms, and much more. This, in turn, increases the demand for patient-centered care from skilled health professionals.
Sitrin’s NeuroCare program delivers comprehensive care from onset through progression of each of these diseases. The multidisciplinary team collaborates to determine an individualized long-term health plan and continuously evaluates residents to make care adjustments. They assess functioning, treatment, therapy, and communication options, while providing comfort and consistency. The overall goal is to improve quality of life for residents through a specialized, home-like environment.
