Judah Mintz and J.J. Starling Scheduled to Headline 20th Annual Wheelchair Basketball Game
The Sitrin Foundation will hold its 20th Annual Celebrity Classic Wheelchair Basketball game on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., in the Utica University Clark Athletic Center. Proceeds, which support Sitrin’s STARS adaptive sports program, will fund the purchase of new sports wheelchairs and equipment, and help offset training and competition expenses for STARS athletes.
Scheduled to headline this year’s game are Syracuse University Men’s Basketball stars, Judah Mintz, and J.J. Starling. During his freshman year, Mintz was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team and led the ACC’s freshmen in scoring with 16.3 points per game. The sophomore Guard currently leads the team with 18.5 points per game and has already accumulated more than 900 career points in just two seasons with the Orange. Starling was also named to the ACC All-Freshman team during his freshman season and is currently the second-leading scorer for the Orange, averaging 12.7 points per game.
“We are thrilled to present the 20th Celebrity Classic,” Marc DePerno, vice president of Foundation and Communications and director of the STARS program, said. “The Sitrin STARS are excited to showcase their abilities and are incredibly appreciative of the support they receive from the community.”
Two fans will have a chance to compete against Mintz and Starling in a three-point competition during halftime. There will also be a silent auction of sports memorabilia, a 50/50 raffle, and free autographs during the second half of the game.
Tickets, which can be purchased online or at the door, are $10 for adults 18 years of age and older, and $5 for students of any age. Children under five years old are free. For ticket information, visit www.sitrin.com/celebrityclassic.
