Sitrin Foundation Participates in MV Gives Day Sept. 20
Sitrin Child Care Center to Benefit!
NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2023) – MV Gives is a community day of online giving, sponsored by The Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties Inc.
This year, the Foundation has selected the Sitrin Child Care Center to be the recipient of funds raised that day.
Heather Galinski, program director, said the center could use new play equipment – especially for its outdoor play area.
Marc DePerno, vice president of the foundation and communications, said that years of play and exposure to the elements takes a toll, and this equipment must be replaced.
The Child Care Center, located on the Sitrin campus, is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Bureau of Early Childhood Services. It offers a total of 64 full-time slots for children ranging in age from six weeks to five years. The center provides professional, quality child care for the community, as well as the children of Sitrin employees.
“Our teachers and teacher assistants provide a nurturing and caring environment, while teaching the children through innovative activities and a variety of programming. The center also has a full-time cook, who prepares nutritious lunches, as well as morning and afternoon snacks.
The preschool class offers a kindergarten-readiness curriculum, so that each child is prepared to start elementary school when they graduate.
