SITRIN NEUROCARE HOSTS PREMIERE PARTY FOR "ALS & HD: YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND IN ME"
On Friday May 3, Sitrin NeuroCare hit the red carpet for a star-studded event. The specialty program premiered ALS & HD: You’ve Got a Friend in Me, a new music video created by NeuroCare residents and Sitrin staff members.
To commemorate amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and Huntington’s Disease (HD) month, the video was created to raise vital awareness about the two neurodegenerative disorders. Set to the tune of the popular Toy Story hit "You’ve Got a Friend in Me," the video illustrates the importance of building companionship between staff and residents within Sitrin's NeuroCare program.
"We created this video so residents of our unit would know that they have friends in us as caregivers," said Certified Recreation Therapist, Danielle Barcomb-Busansky. "We wanted to increase awareness and showcase the strong support system at Sitrin."
The video was produced by Courtney Brown, Sitrin's Foundation & Communications Associate, and featured NeuroCare nursing, recreation, and admin staff, as well as residents living with ALS & HD.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Sitrin’s NeuroCare unit, the night kicked off with the stars of the show taking to the red carpet in their best evening wear, closely followed by Sitrin’s own paparazzi. Guests enjoyed a variety of refreshments, and took home Sitrin swag bags.
